Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia, as well as the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Queensland. It is set close to the Pacific Ocean, and is situated on the Brisbane River on plains between Moreton Bay and the Great Dividing Range in south-eastern Queensland. Holy Spirit Home is located in the suburb of Carseldine, which is 14 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Carseldine is well serviced by public transport with easy access to both bus and rail (Carseldine Station) services providing direct access into the heart of Brisbane. In addition, the main northern highway runs through the area and provides access to the local coastal community. The Gateway Motorway is about five minutes away providing a quick trip of about 20 minutes by car to both the international and domestic airports. The adjoining suburbs of Aspley and Chermside boast extensive retail services and facilities for Carseldine residents. These include the Hypermarket, Home Base Centre and the recently enhanced Chermside Shopping Centre which incorporates a cinema complex, games arcade, tenpin bowling, gym, and extensive shopping. Medical services are provided throughout the area with Holy Spirit Northside and The Prince Charles Hospitals located closeby. Several schools in the surrounding area include Taigum Primary School, Aspley East Primary School, St Flannans Catholic School and Aspley Primary and High Schools. Tertiary students are also close to the Queensland University of Technology, Carseldine campus. With its variety of housing, easy access to public transport and close proximity to schoolsand services, Carseldine is a wonderful, liveable suburb, ideal for families. |
